Happy Mother's Day/Happy Birthday

We started Mother's Day with a trip to see Grandmama Cook for a few hours. Matthew and Brooke had a good time, but I think we wore Grandmama out........We gave her a card that plays "I love you a bushel and a peck" which is what she sang to us when we were little (and big). It is now one of Matthew's favorite songs. Wild man did sit with her to take a picture:

Then the big kids joined her:

And of course Matthew was done cooperating.

Here is what I got from Brooke for Mother's Day. I am quite proud of the detail in the coloring and the cup is gorgeous, as you know Brooke is not one for details and can be quite sloppy when not taking her time:

Brian bought me a beautiful hydrangea after I didnt want to part with the one that we gave to Grandmama. I came home and found it on the table. I love hydrangeas even more then roses.

Brian and I cooked lunch since it was also Lei's birthday. We did two roasts with veggies, pineapple casserole and some yummy peas from Calhouns. Then Mama made Lei a cake and Todd tried to burn the house down:

Yes, there are 29 lit candles on it!

And here I was afraid the smoke detector would go off:

Brooke goes on her field trip to Atlanta tomorrow and she is so excited. They are leaving the sch00l at 6:30 AM!

Brandon is having his swimming party (for his friends) this Saturday. He is having a luau. I think that we almost have everything set. Then on his birthday we are just going to eat dinner and have cake.
