I have always wanted to decorate cakes. Not like Betsy's cakes, just simple ones for my kids' birthday parties. So when a cake decorating class became available, I was eager to sign up. A friend of mine from school came with me and we had the best time at the first class. The lady gave us plain cookies and we played with icing bags and tips and practiced decorating. Next week we are supposed to make 2 dozen cupcakes and 2 batches of buttercream icing to bring. She thought it would be fun to make the cupcakes into a shaped cake.
So here are my creations from tonight and what happened to them shortly after we got home!
