Brooke had her third grade recognition program today and she won the award for Most Improved. I saw the look on her face when they were calling out her class and they skipped her. She was the last one and she was getting worried. I did OK, Gaye and I had already decided that we would have a private cry later, and I was fine until they played Pomp and Circumstance. With one about to be a junior in high school, that was not what I was prepared for. Then, I really try not to think about Brooke's graduation year because that gives us a timeline, but she will be the class of 2018. Brandon is 2011, and that is close enough, but now that I know Brooke's it is almost too much to bear. When you have a baby, you are so focused on the baby stuff, no one warns you about these moments when they get big. I really think they are harder. I have one kid at every stage and I am an emotional wreck. I will sit by myself at Brandon's graduation because I am going to cry the entire time.
So Brooke got a nice medal and a certificate. They also did cap and gown pictures (or as Brooke calls them just gown pictures). So be prepared for a string to follow. I am still working on Brandon's video, hopefully I will finish tonight and get it posted. I have also added some new pages to the scrapbook gallery and hope that I can get a lot done over the summer. And if you are wondering how I have extra time this afternoon, Brooke went home with Terri and Grandmama after lunch and Matthew insisted on being picked up in the golf cart a little while ago!
I forgot! The last picture is of Brooke's color poem that she wrote. I guess it is inevitable that all of my children have an infatuation with fire trucks!
