H1N1 has the the Fincher house!

After another long night, not just of fever, but of vomiting everything, including Tamiflu, and becoming VERY croupy, I did not cancel our appointment this morning. We went in at 10:15. Matthew was playing a little, he smiled at Dr. Stewart and sang and laughed. His temp was 100 when we were first examined. She decided to send us down for chest xrays to make sure there was nothing going on and a CBC to check his blood count. He has had a couple of episodes yesterday and today where his fingers turn blue and that has not gone over well with me. By the time we got registered and down to the lab, he was burning up with fever. They did his chest xray and the ladies in the lab were so worried about his fever they ran the elderly patients out and put on masks and gloves. We headed back upstairs and Leslie the nurse took one look at him and took us right back, by this time his temp was 103.5 and climbing and he was limp in my arms. I know Dr. Stewart thought I was exagerrating until she saw it happen. It took a dose of Tylenol AND Motrin to get his temp down enough for her to feel comfortable for us to leave. His white blood count is ok, but we STILL as of 3:00 have not heard from the chest xray. And while I WANT to think that no news is good news, I am not going to jinx it! Also, when we got back upstairs, Dr. V had sent his swine flu test STAT (her words) and it was back and POSITIVE. So we came home while we wait for the chest xray results. He perked up when his fever went down, and he kept asking for water. I got him to drink some Sprite up there, and he kept it down. He threw up a dose of tamiflu last night AND this morning so I was worried that he would throw up but he didnt.

When we left Affinity, he wanted a Happy Meal, we got it and went home, he ate all of his chicken nuggets and most of his fries. That is the most he has eaten in days! And so far so good, no throw up!!

Before we left town, I had to run by the drug store, poor Dan, I dont think I will ever pay him off, we have more Tamiflu for him, Tamiflu for Brandon and Brooke and 2 breathing treatments and steroids for Matthew.

Hoping we turn a corner tonight!!
